Hey guys!

So a little update, like you saw on my last post I was doing a research on Rom/Com

movies, but today I got together with my partner and we decided to choose Thriller

as our genre for our film opening. Why? Well because we think that romantic

comedies are very common and a genre that everyone wants to do, so we definitely

think that in order to get a good and deserving score we should do something not as

common as a romantic comedy.

We think thrillers are the kind of movies that keep the audience at the border of their

sits, in other words provoke strong emotions to the audience, and that is what we

want, since thrillers use suspense, tension and excitement as principal element of the

plot with the help of dark colors to create unsettling atmosphere and tense music to

build up tension to the audience. We want to be able to transmit these feelings to our

audience when they watch our film opening, which is going to be a huge challenge for

us, since we have to be able to present a story line without giving out too much

information about what is going to happen in the rest of the film, so that we can

create suspense in the audience which will make them stay and keep watching the film.

We aren’t sure yet what is our film going to be about, but we did some research

and have an outline about how the character and plot should be. In the case of the

protagonist, he/she is the one that faces the danger of the death in the majority of

the films, but we were thinking that we could do it from the killers perspective to make

it no too common like the rest of the thrillers, meaning the antagonist would be the

protagonist of the film, and the entire plot will be about a mystery that must be resolved.

We are still thinking on concrete ideas for the story line, and if I’m being honest,

trying to find an original idea for this has been really hard, since we have plenty

of ideas but neither of them lead to the bigger picture, but with the help of YouTube

we have been put some ideas together and seeing how can we make our film opening

interesting, simple and original. I will update you guys with more information about the

story line and hopefully our ideas will come together.
