COULD COMEDY BE AN OPTION?

Making a comedy film opening could be a little challenging due to the fact that I have to keep in mind that the characters within the film are engaging and can easily make the target audience enjoy their time and laugh.
According to my research, Comedies are usually filmed in bright settings, since it's a sequence that must reflect happiness, and can also creates a realistic environment which the target audience enjoys, unless is a dark comedy.
Comedies observe the frustrations of life, providing merriment and a momentary escape from day-to-day life. They usually have happy endings, although the humor may have a serious or pessimistic side. This important information has a huge value because if I'm planning on making a comedy I need to keep in mind the way to transmit certain jokes and also make sure the characters are funny enough to transmit them.

My partner and I aren't sure if comedy could be a good option for us due to the fact that we aren't funny enough ourselves, and we prefer not having to depend on someone else when it comes to our project, so we are yet to decide if this is a good idea. But we still did research on the genre and we learned certain thing that we have to have present when doing this kind of films. For example most of the comedies have a happy ending and are based on one individual's life and struggles but knows how to surpass them. However some comedies do not have a happy ending, which are the ones called Black comedies. These black comedies contain taboo subject such as death and violence, for example "Keeping Mom", which is a film that is about a woman who has a very large trunk on a train and it begins to leak blood and the police are called, and the woman tell them that there is two bodies inside the trunk, these are her cheating husband and his mistress. So this movie includes a black sense of humor which could be really hard to make as well, but out attention is drawn to the suspense of these killings, so we might change the genre soon enough. I will keep you up to date guys!

Stay Tuned!
