Hi guys!

So we finally have a concrete idea of what we want to do with our film, we finally got our ideas together. We created an outline that said main shots we were gonna incorporate in our opening scene, now we are moving forward to working on a more concrete storyboard, which is the one we will follow to be able to start filming our film opening. We are planning on finishing the storyboard and script by the end of the week.
To be completely honest with you guys, it's been really difficult to come up with the right script for our voice over, we are still brainstorming on what exactly should be said on this voice over, YES I KNOW we are taking a lot to do this script, but we will have it by the end of the week.. at least that is our goal.

Regardless, our outline contains the overall scenery and composition for our film opening, of course this is not the final product, we will add and maybe take out some shots, but this is a general idea of what we want to do.

We decided to start the scene with some closeups of leafs and ground, to add some credits and also establish the setting, which in this case is the forest, right after that we will show a long shot of this girl getting out of her car, then a point of view of her grabbing the bag, with the body on it, out of the car, right after that there is going to be a cut that will be shot from a third person point of view from inside the car, showing the girl closing the car, afterwards, we want to maybe show a close up of the side mirrors that reflects her face or hand with a little blood, which she immediately cleans up without showing any concern. Lets keep in mind that this girl is calm throughout the entire process or burying the body, which will make it more uncomfortable and tense for the audience.

Afterwards, we will show some of the action of her digging the whole, we want to add a cut away that will show the empty row, which we think could create some sort of mystery and tension in the audience, since they are going to assume that maybe someone may see her burying the body at any moment, so this way their full attention will be on the screen. Once you see that she has buried the body there is an abrupt cut, that simulates the time changing on the scene, that brings us all the way to the present, where she is just in her bathroom doing her morning routine, like nothing has ever happened and that is were our opening will end.

With this opening scene we want to achieve three goals:
First: keep the audience in constant tension, have them feel all the emotions throughout the first 2 minutes so they stay to watch the rest.
Second: Who is this girl and why is she so calm with the whole "burying a body thing", shouldn't she be a little more freaked out? or worry about it. Also why does she even think what she's done was the right thing?
Third: We want them to assume possible events that may have driven this person to take such decision of killing someone.

Stay tuned guys! I will be back soon to show you our final story board with more explanation of our shots!
